Recently, the Quanzhou Marine Environment Monitoring and Forecasting Center in Fujian Province was unveiled in Hui'an, which is the first prediction center jointly built by four parties in China. The construction of this center will greatly enhance the observation, monitoring, and early warning capabilities of the marine environment in Quanzhou City, provide good technical support for marine disaster prevention and reduction and the construction of marine ecological civilization in Quanzhou City, and effectively promote the sustainable and healthy development of the marine economy in Quanzhou City.
Quanzhou Marine Environment Monitoring and Forecasting Center is located in Chongwu. The project covers an area of nearly 9 mu, with a total investment of more than 27 million yuan. It has four major functions of marine environment monitoring, observation, forecasting, and science popularization display. Among them, the Marine Science Museum uses advanced display methods to systematically interpret the three main themes of "entering the ocean, understanding the ocean, and experiencing the ocean", providing a good platform for the public to understand and understand the ocean.
It is understood that the Quanzhou Marine Environment Monitoring and Forecasting Center was jointly funded by the East China Sea Branch of the National Oceanic and Fisheries Administration, the Provincial Department of Oceanography and Fisheries, the municipal government, and the county government, and began construction in November 2014. The joint construction of the four parties is still the first in the country, which will effectively integrate national and local resources for marine environment observation, monitoring, and early warning, avoid duplicate investment in infrastructure and human resources, and promote the collaboration between the national marine department and local authorities.
