On November 27th, the Rural Drinking Water Office of Fangxian County in Hubei Province signed an agreement with the County Center for Disease Control and Prevention to jointly build a water quality testing center for the rural drinking water safety project, marking the official establishment of the Fangxian Rural Drinking Water Safety Project Water Quality Testing Center.

Since 2006, 146 water plants have been built in Fangxian County, solving the drinking water difficulties for 400100 rural residents. In order to ensure that the people can drink drinking water that meets the national hygiene standards, the county invested 1.16 million yuan to purchase water quality testing equipment and conduct regular testing of the rural water supply quality throughout the county, thus ending the history of rural population's lack of specialized supervision and testing of drinking water quality.
