The China Science and Technology Joint Venture Guangdong Refining and Chemical Integration Project is currently the largest joint venture refining and chemical project in China. It is jointly constructed by China Petrochemical Corporation and Kuwait National Petroleum Co., Ltd. in a 50:50 shareholding ratio. The project site is located in Donghai Island New Area of Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total land area of about 12.26 square kilometers, including 6.33 square kilometers for the first phase; The total investment in the first phase is about 9 billion dollars. It is planned to refine 15 million tons/year, produce 1 million tons/year of ethylene, and build a 300000 ton crude oil terminal in Donghai Island Port Area of Port of Zhanjiang. The project will implement the circular economy model, adopt international and domestic advanced production technology and pollution control technology, and design and manage in strict accordance with international advanced environmental standards, so as to build the project into a landmark and demonstration project of Sinopec industry and a national circular economy demonstration zone.
