Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection was established in February 1982 with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial Editorial Committee. It is a provincial-level comprehensive inspection institution under the Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, engaged in product quality supervision and inspection. In May 2005, with the approval of the Provincial Editorial Committee, the Jiangsu Provincial Food Safety Monitoring Center was established. In August 2006, it was renamed as Jiangsu Province Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Research Institute from Jiangsu Province Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.
